In the gap between Southern California’s two highest mountains, thousands of turbines fill the landscape on either side of Interstate 10, taking advantage of a natural wind tunnel. More than 2000 wind turbines are standing in the San Gorgonio Pass, the gateway to Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley. Some of them are 30 years old.
