Monday we met @mark.brand, a Chef and social entrepreneur (once homeless himself). He’s very committed to change lives with food. Mark addressed the bias of giving money to homeless people: “because they use it for alcohol or drugs”. He has build entire structures to help people with food and not only money. With smart down to earth solutions like a token program, it’s only redeemable for a sandwich, can’t trade it for anything else. Over 120,000 tokens have been redeemed and filling empty stomachs, and even more important creating interaction between people and reducing food waste. And his programs employs people from all background and disabilities. It’s beautiful to see his true goal to fight poverty in smart ways.
A special thanks to Sustainable Queenstown and Sherwood for the hospitality.

WE MUST BE OUR BRIGHTEST
WE MUST LOVE OUR HARDEST”
